SkyTrain service changes to facilitate expansion projects

To allow connecting tracks to be constructed to a new maintenance facility, there will be some service changes starting on February 10th, 2024 on the Expo Line between Columbia and Production Way-University.

  • Expo Line service to and from Lougheed Town Centre and Production Way-University will run every 12 minutes rather than every 6 minutes.
  • Some Expo Line services from Waterfront will terminate at Braid station.
  • Trains from Braid and Sapperton stations to Waterfront may depart from either platform.

The new maintenance facility, between Braid and Lougheed Town Centre stations in Coquitlam, will support the expansion of the Skytrain fleet to serve the Surrey-Langley and Broadway extensions and provide increased frequencies.

Two connecting tracks will curve above the CN New Westminster Subdivision, used by Amtrak Cascades and VIA Rail’s Canadian. The project is expected to be complete in 2027.
