Vancouver Sun columnist, Vaughn Palmer, commented on Premier Eby’s attempt to discuss B.C.’s transportation needs and the involvement of the federal government’s major development projects. The column is found at Eby tries to talk transportation, but reconciliation keeps coming up | Vancouver Sun.
Transport Action BC wrote a letter to the editor (unpublished) noting that the Premier did not mention the, up for discontinuance, BC Rail line. The BC Rail line is a vital link from the Interior to the Coast, serving a number of isolated communities and First Nations. It also provides resiliency to the national rail system as an alternate route to tidewater, if the mainline Fraser Canyon/Valley rail lines are shut down.
