I wonder if BC TA has looked at these three issues.
1.The Rail for Vancouver Island critique of the ICF regarding the future of the E and N.
2. Various commentators here have noted the high cost estimate of the BC transit plan for LRT in Victoria and the problematic cost comparisons given in the plan.
3. The LRT plan does not include possible transit on the E and N. However, A Westshore Chamber of Commerce report urges that both the Trans-Canada and the E and N corridors be used. A BC MOT report provides quite clear costing for possible transit alternatives on the E and N.
Thanks

The issues have been mentioned briefly at our meetings but no in depth analysis or commentary has been produced. We would gladly review any comments you have on the issues and consider them for for posting on this blog or publishing in the Western Newsletter,

Thanks for response. Rails for Vancouver Island is tracking ICF and progress on the E and N rehabilitation as well as the LRT proposal here. The ICF just announced matching $ for basic upgrade. It may be a while before VIA is back in action Meanwhile .Ottawa OC Transpo is retiring its O train DMUs according to TA ON. Would be nice to see them on the E and N as part of the regional transit up grade. So far BC transit is fixated on the Trans Canada corridor rather than on both as some suggest. Time will tell.
